The Departments of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at PPG Institute of Technology jointly organized the seminar The Language of Machines: Unlocking the Power of NLP in AI. The resource person was Mr. Dinah Samuel Anand J, Technical Trainer at KGiSL Technologies, Coimbatore. The seminar provided an overview of how NLP enables machines to understand, interpret, and generate human language. Topics included syntax, semantics, pragmatics, tokenization, lemmatization, part-of-speech tagging, sentiment analysis, opinion mining, transformer models such as BERT and GPT, and the role of NLP in conversational AI and business analytics. The event also highlighted applications in healthcare, education, finance, customer service, research, and AI-driven solutions. Participants gained practical insights into NLP-powered AI systems and related research and project opportunities.
