About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was started in the year 2009, offers B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) and M.E. (Engineering Design) Programs and is permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The department has necessary infrastructural and laboratories, managed by qualified and dedicated teaching professionals.The department trains the students with advanced softwares to meet the industry expectations.

The Department strives for providing students with concept oriented teaching to ensure excellence, as a professional.

The graduates of M.E. Engineering Design will be able to,

1. An ability to independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems
2. An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document
3. Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program
4. Students should be able to understand the importance of creativity process in design and will demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate, design a system and solve engineering problems.
5. Students should be able to use the techniques, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering problems.
